Breaking New Ground: Honoring Real-Time Radar-based Nowcasting Innovation

I am thrilled to share that I’ve received the Breaking New Ground Award for my work in developing and deploying an operational, real-time, radar-based rainfall nowcasting pipeline encompassing a deep learning-based nowcasting model. This recognition highlights the progress made in bridging AI research with real-world meteorological applications, enabling more reliable and accurate rainfall predictions in Singapore’s tropical weather.

I’m very grateful for the support from my colleagues and collaborators who are part of this journey. This award acknowledges not just a personal milestone but a collective stride toward the future of AI in meteorology.
